"A Sense of Place”

“The Waikanae Golf Course is acknowledged as one of the more reputable courses in the Wellington region. With its mixture of authentic dune lands, native wetlands, and meandering creeks the identity of the course is closely tied to its location just a few hundred metres back from the Kapiti Coastline.

The unique natural landscape and clever routing provide golfing challenges not common among courses in the area. This sets Waikanae apart and offers a thoroughly enjoyable experience for golfers of all abilities.

Waikanae has been the proud host to several National Events including qualifying for the New Zealand Open, the National Women’s Stroke Play, the National Women’s Under 19 Championships and the Wellington Stroke Play”.

“A focus on Ecology”

As part of our master plan created by course architect Phil Tataurangi, a strong focus has been placed on restoring the land to its natural state. This includes replacing exotic plantings with native species, implementing careful stewardship of our waterways, and maintaining active pest control programs. Together, these initiatives reflect our commitment to enhancing the ecological health of the course while preserving its unique character.
